Nuttall's Waterweed

ARCHIEVED IMAGES

SEPTEMBER 2011

I was helping to pull Reeds and Reedmace out of our village pond when I noticed tiny flowers floating on the surface of the crystal clear water, looking for all the world like blssom that had dropped from a Hawthron or Elder. Closer inspection revealed the flowers of Nuttall's Waterweed, each at the end of a long, thread-like stem. I could not resist the temtation to get the camera and tripod and have a go, even if I was wearing chest waders, and the water was well above my waist!
